What Is a Pet Portal?

Washington Square Veterinary Clinic is a highly personalized clinic. We seek to establish and maintain a strong human communication link to provide the best pet care. That is why we are leveraging the Pet Portal technology provided by Vetstreet, the leader in practice communication solutions.

What is a Pet Portal?

A Pet Portal is a secured, private website that gives you convenient access to several aspects of your pet’s health.

Why would I want a Pet Portal?

A personal Pet Portal is a great tool to help you keep your pet happy and healthy! You can view your pet's vaccine and service reminder due dates so you can plan in advance.  You can notify us of changes that should be made; maybe you have a new phone number, or your pet's birthday isn't right.  You can view topics of importance for new puppies or an elderly cat; your portal is customized to your pet's needs.  You can view previous medications or special diets you have purchased from us.  You can request appointments.  You can create custom pet care instructions for your friend or boarding facility to ensure your pet gets proper care while you’re away.  You might want to check out the "Community Page" to read stories about other pets, or write your own.  There is even a nice pet memorial section as well.  Maybe the Pet Minder will be the tool for your busy lifestyle; it will email you reminders to give monthly medications, or set it up to remind you to make every 6 week nail trim appointments.  There is so much to do and see – it will soon be one of your favorite links.

Is my Pet Portal secure?

Yes, your Pet Portal resides on a secure server. Your personal information cannot be viewed by anyone else.

Do I need a separate Pet Portal for each pet?

No, your Pet Portal contains information for each of your pets who have visited our hospital.

How do I get a Pet Portal?

Remember when you filled out your New Client Information Sheet before your first visit? You provided us with an email address at that time and it is now used as your sign-in name. If you didn’t give us an email address, or if you have a better one now, call us at 778-1011 or drop by to request a change. Within a few days you will receive an email message to get started. As for all online accounts, please be sure to change your password to something secure the first time you log in.

What do you do with my email address?

We are aware of the concerns regarding sharing an email address; we share those concerns for our own email addresses. Your email address is included with your other contact information on file as is used to link your pet’s records to your Pet Portal. You may opt-out of clinic reminders and savings opportunities as you see fit, but we hope you try it for a few months! Note that we will NOT – nor have we ever – sell our client list for use by third parties.
